God Judges us for what we are - Not what we were: Day 5 - Purpose in the Present.

| Stepping into purpose with morning light… |
We often look back with regret, replaying moments we wish we could erase. But God doesn’t dwell in our past—He meets us in the present. His judgment isn’t based on the broken chapters we’ve lived through, but on the heart we carry today.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18–19
This is the divine invitation: to step into purpose now. Not when we’re perfect. Not when we’ve “earned” it. But now—flawed, learning, growing. God’s grace is active in the present, and His purpose is waiting in the now.
📖 Scripture Expansion
Paul writes in Philippians 3:13–14:
“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal…”
This isn’t just spiritual advice—it’s a mindset shift. Forgetting doesn’t mean erasing the past; it means refusing to let it define your future. God’s judgment is forward-facing. He sees your effort, your repentance, your transformation.
🧍 Personal Story
I once met a man who had spent years in prison. When he got out, he struggled to find work, acceptance, even peace. But he found a small church that welcomed him—not for who he had been, but for who he was becoming. He started serving, cleaning, praying, and eventually mentoring others. Today, he’s a youth pastor. His past didn’t disqualify him—it prepared him. God didn’t judge him for what he was. He saw the man he was becoming.
🎯 Closing Challenge
Today, take one step that reflects who you are—not who you were.
Call someone you hurt and make peace.
Start that project you’ve been avoiding.
Pray boldly, even if you feel unworthy.
Serve someone without expecting anything back.
Let your present be louder than your past. Let your purpose speak louder than your pain.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for seeing me through eyes of grace. Help me to live fully in the present, trusting that Your purpose is not held hostage by my past. Let today be a step toward the future You’ve designed for me. Amen.
