When God doesn’t heal the way, you had hoped.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
— Isaiah 43:2
Miracles and Questions
A preacher once shared a story from South Africa. A blind woman came forward for prayer, and in that moment, her sight was restored. It was undeniable proof that God still performs miracles - the blind sees, the lame walk, and broken hearts are healed.
But what about those who don’t receive the healing they long for? What happens when prayers seem unanswered? Many of us wrestle with that question in silence.
Wrestling With “Why”
We ask:
Why would God allow such hardship?
Why do prayers sometimes feel unheard?
Why does healing come for some but not for others?
Sleepless nights often echo with these questions. Even when we live faithfully, attend church, and care for our families, life can still feel overwhelming - layoffs, empty bank accounts, and silent struggles weigh heavily.
God’s Nearness in Brokenness
Is God distant? No. Scripture reminds us: “The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). He is near, even when we feel abandoned.
What about broken plans? God sees the shattered pieces. He promises: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
What about tomorrow? Anxiety clouds our vision, but God declares: “See, I am doing a new thing! … I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19).
Where is God in adversity? He knows the exact place of our pain. His promise stands: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned” (Isaiah 43:2).
Hope in the Midst of Pain
Blindness, disease, financial hardship, or emotional struggles may invade our lives, but despair will not consume us. God’s presence is constant - in weakness, in anxiety, and in danger.
He may not heal in the way we expect, but He gives us vision to see His hand at work. The same hand that holds your loneliness, your pain, and your heartache.
A Call to Believe
All He asks is that we fix the eyes of our heart on Him. That’s when hope is born, faith grows and courage rises. Courage to believe that God will see us through.
Prayer
Father, thank You for healing my unbelieving heart. Thank You for giving me eyes to see who You are, what You promise, and how You guide. Amen.
Be Safe and God Bless.
