When Your Mind Believes Lies.

| Satan Guides you with the Lie. |
You Have an Enemy
What if you discovered that some of the things you’ve believed for years were not true? What if you realized there is an enemy who has been systematically brainwashing you? That enemy is Satan. His only language is deception, and his target is your mind.
Jesus warned us: “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44b).
When Satan controls your mind, he controls your beliefs. And a false belief has just as much power over your actions as a true one. Lies can kill relationships, steal joy, and destroy hope. His mission is clear: “to kill, steal, and destroy” (John 10:10).
This is Warfare
The only way to defeat lies is with truth. Darkness is always overcome by light. That means you must be proactive, intentional, and immediate in replacing lies with truth before they take root.
Replace lies with truth: Don’t just recognize the lie—counter it with Scripture.
Repeat truth often: Repetition forms new pathways in your brain.
Guard your mind: Lazy thinking is the devil’s delight.
Hope Restored
When you memorize and meditate on God’s Word, your mind is transformed. Lies lose their grip, and truth becomes your default thought pattern.
Relationships are strengthened.
Joy is renewed.
Hope is restored.
Your thoughts begin to align with Christ, and your actions follow suit.
Arm Yourself with Scripture
You know where you are most vulnerable. Arm yourself with targeted verses that directly counter the lies you struggle with.
Practical steps:
Take screenshots of verses and keep them on your phone.
Write notecards and carry them with you.
Stay alert: “Your great enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Never put your mind on autopilot. Always think about what you are thinking. Guarding your mind is the hardest - and most important - work you’ll do each day.
The Cleverness of Lies
As Adrian Rogers once said: “Satan is a clever liar because his lies sound so much like the truth. He wants to change your thought processes in order to deceive you and destroy you. He is not only the father of lies, but he lies about the biggest subject - God.”
That’s why discernment is critical. If a thought is destructive, defeating, depressing, or divisive, it is not from God.
