Sometimes You Wonder if God Ever Listens - Day 3: The Wrestling

Embrace the Struggle of Faith

๐ŸŒŒ When Faith Feels Like a Fight

There are moments in life when faith doesn’t feel like a warm embrace—it feels like a battle. You pray, you wait, you hope… and still, silence. You wonder if God hears you at all. You question your own belief. You wrestle.

But here’s the truth: wrestling is not a sign of weak faith—it’s a sign of living faith.

Think of Jacob in Genesis 32. He wrestled with God through the night, refusing to let go until he received a blessing. That struggle left him limping, yes—but it also left him changed. His name, his identity, his destiny—all transformed in the tension of that divine encounter.

๐Ÿ’ก Why the Struggle Matters

Faith isn’t always tidy. It’s not a straight line from doubt to belief. It’s a winding road filled with questions, tears, and long nights. But it’s in those moments of wrestling that we grow. That we learn to trust deeper. That we discover God not as a distant deity, but as a present companion - even in the silence.

  • Struggle deepens intimacy: When we wrestle, we engage. We stop pretending and start seeking.

  • Struggle reveals truth: It forces us to confront what we really believe and what we’re afraid to admit.

  • Struggle leads to transformation: Just like Jacob, we don’t walk away the same. We walk away marked by grace.

✨ Embrace the Limp

Jacob’s limp wasn’t a curse - it was a reminder. A holy scar. Proof that he had met God and lived. Your limp - your struggle, your questions, your doubts - can be just as sacred.

So if you’re in a season of wrestling, don’t let go. Hold on. Even if all you have left is a whisper of belief, that’s enough. God is not offended by your questions. He’s not distant in your doubt. He’s right there - in the ring with you.

๐Ÿ“ Reflection Prompt

Take a moment to journal or meditate on this:

What part of your faith feels like a struggle right now? Can you name it, sit with it, and invite God into it - not to fix it immediately, but to be with you in it?
