Are you fighting the wrong battle?

Right or Wrong.

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” – Psalm 118:6

The Hidden Struggle of Faith

“I’m going to be brutally honest,” a woman said in our recent Zoom meeting.

She cleared her throat and asked, “Are Christians lying? Or are some of them faking, or covering up the truth? Even though we’re believers, how can we not feel fear, have moments of doubt, and even cry out, ‘God, this is enough!’”

No one answered. Perhaps because we silently agreed.

Many of us hide those emotions under the notion of “having enough faith.” But the truth is, we’re human. Even as believers, we wake up some mornings wondering what will come next. Sometimes God’s Word feels distant when the world’s darkness presses in.

Fear vs. Faith: The Battle Within

The pandemic of anxiety spreads quietly among Christians. It’s the battle between sinking in fear and standing in faith.

Peter faced this same dilemma during the storm. He should have trusted Jesus to protect him, but instead he blurted out words of fear. His worry was contagious, spreading doubt among the disciples.

Peter thought he was defenseless, left to fight fear alone. But he wasn’t—and neither are we.

Which Side Will You Choose?

We’re all in that same boat, tossed by storms of uncertainty. The choice is ours:

  • Sink in fear – swallowed by anxiety, overwhelmed by doubt.

  • Stand in faith – looking to God’s wisdom, daring to believe beyond circumstances.

Those who choose faith declare victory in Christ. They step under His banner of glory, knowing He has already fought the battle.

The Weapons of Victory

When we stand on God’s side, we don’t fight empty‑handed. We are equipped with:

  • Faith – trusting His promises.

  • Commitment – staying steadfast even in trials.

  • Truth – holding onto His Word.

  • Confidence – knowing He is with us.

Gratitude becomes our garment, and His presence our shield.

A Prayer for Today

Father, no matter how bad things get, I vow to remain on the side that trusts in You. When inflation rises, my faith will increase. When bad news comes, I shall run to You for protection. I will rejoice because when I’m under the side of Your grace, no evil can harm me, my life, or my family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Thoughts

Fear is real, but so is faith. The question isn’t whether storms will come - they will. The question is: Are you fighting the wrong battle?

Choose to fight with faith, not fear. Stand firm and let God’s victory be your victory.

Be Safe and God Bless.
