God's Commitment to Forgive.

 Hebrews 8:12 (NKJV): “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

The Burden of Wrong Believing

How often do we interpret life’s setbacks — a flat tire, an illness, a financial struggle - as punishment for past sins? This mindset is common, but it reveals a deeper issue: many believers still live as though they are under the old covenant, not the new.

• Misunderstanding God’s mercy: We assume He is tallying our failures, waiting to discipline us.

• The truth of the covenant: Jesus declared at the Last Supper, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matt. 26:28).

The new covenant is not about punishment; it is about forgiveness through Christ’s blood.

The Main Clause of Grace

Hebrews 8:12 is the cornerstone of the new covenant. God’s mercy and His promise to forget our sins are not side notes — they are the foundation.

• Forgiveness is complete: It does not depend on good deeds, donations, or titles.

• God cannot lie: If He says He remembers sins no more, then they are truly forgotten.

• The finished work: At the cross, Jesus cried, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). Every record of sin was erased.

Freedom From Condemnation

When God looks at you, He sees the righteousness of Christ. Your past sins are not projected on a heavenly screen; they are incinerated by His blood.

• The devil accuses: Satan will remind you of your failures.

• People remember: Others may bring up your mistakes.

• God forgets: His Word declares your sins are gone.

So when guilt weighs heavy, run to God’s grace.

Living in the New Covenant

Believing God’s promise transforms how we live:

• Start each day with confidence in His mercy.

• Reject condemnation and embrace His forgiveness.

• Walk boldly, knowing you are covered by Christ’s blood.

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for the new covenant sealed by the blood of Jesus. Thank You that You are merciful to my unrighteousness and that my sins and lawless deeds You remember no more. Help me to walk in freedom, not condemnation, and to rest in the finished work of Christ. Amen.
